If you would like to have acupuncture / neuropuncture treatment but concerned about the cost, there might be some options to help cover the cost.

Southern cross 

We are southern cross provider. “Well Being Two” policy with the Body Care Module may have coverage of up to $400 per year for acupuncture. Contact Southern Cross call centre on 0800 800 181 to check your eligibility.

Unimed

Unimed provides coverage for acupuncture under their Hospital Select and Health Positive plans.

Employer Coverage

Certain organizations, including NZ Police, NZ Post, Air New Zealand, Kiwi Rail, Veteran’s Affairs, and specific education unions, might offer acupuncture treatment coverage for their staff members. It is advisable to consult your employer to determine if this benefit is available to you.

Work and income NZ

Patients who are enrolled with Work and Income have the potential to qualify for support. It is advised to seek a referral from your GP and consult with WINZ prior to scheduling an appointment.

Partners life

If you have a Partners Life insurance policy, you have the opportunity to pre-approve and claim the expenses for acupuncture treatment. Simply present a treatment plan and supporting evidence, and we will assist you by providing the required paperwork after your initial consultation.
